Facebook or Twitter: Which One’s Better?

Over the last few years, social media advertising has grown more effective and refined, resulting in increased advertising revenues for companies.

According to mobile data collected by reliable sources, Google Inc. takes home the largest share of advertising revenues, with Facebook a distant second. Last year’s figures reveal Google to have received over 53 percent of the total ad revenue; with Facebook getting a 16 percent share; while Twitter collected lesser than 2 percent of the amount.

The latest figures for the first half of the current year, however, point out a changing pattern. It has been noted that Google’s revenue has dropped from 53 percent to 47 percent, whereas Facebook’s revenue has risen from 16 percent to 22 percent. Ad revenue for Twitter remains largely unchanged with it receiving a slightly increasedshare of 2.6 per cent.

Revenue per User (RPU)

Facebook is currently has over 654 million active monthly users, compared to Twitter’s 271 million. When evaluated, Facebook confirmed larger revenue per user of $8.45, which is expected to rise to $39 by 2016. On the contrary Twitter reported revenue of $4.6 per average user. These figures help companies to decide where to place their ads for maximum effectiveness.

Twitter or Facebook?

All of the figures clearly point out Facebook to be the climber; both its ad revenue and RPU has seen a considerable rise. With its expanding user base, Facebook may even surpass Google in the next few years in terms of ad revenue generation. While there have been some positive developments in Twitter’s ad revenue generation as well, it is nowhere close to Facebook in this regard. Zuckerberg’s social network is currently the perfect platform for advertisers to place their ads.

When we looked into it, we found the ads placed on Twitter to be hugely different from those displayed on Facebook. Most of the Twitter ads are from famous advertisers selling upscale products/services. On the contrary, Facebook is home to all sorts of advertisements, ranging from upscale businesses to low scale products/services, owing to its greater outreach and better prices for posting ads.

Facebook is an ideal platform for most companies. All you need to do is to simply create an attractive advert, Buy Facebook Fans and then wait for the magic to spread. You would be surprised once you witness the wide reach and high revenue provided by Facebook for yourself.
