Autumn Animals to Look Out for in the UK

When autumn arrives, it is time to wrap up warm and get outdoors. Clothes like these fisherman sweaters for men https://www.shamrockgift.com/aran-sweaters/mens-aran-sweaters/ will keep you cosy on your woodland stroll – here are some of the things to look out for at this special time of the year…

Squirrels – Keep an eye out in the autumn woodlands for squirrels. Autumn is a good time of the year to see if you can spot some of the native red squirrels. However, there are certain places where you should go as the reds are few and far between in the UK. The Isle of Wight is a stronghold of red squirrels, as is Anglesey in North Wales.

Starlings – These amazing garden birds put on spectacular displays in the autumn and winter months. These are known as murmations, and the cloud of starlings can fill the sky, appearing to move almost as one body. Dawn and dusk are the best times to catch this event happening, so keep your eye on the sky at these times.

Deer – One of the favourite woodland animals in the UK is the deer. In the autumn, the males will be on the lookout for a mate, and this means that you may have the opportunity to see the violent behaviour that goes with it! The stags lock antlers as they battle each other for a mate, in one of the most amazing and brutal natural spectacles that you can see.
