St Patrick’s Cathedral

This beautiful building dates back to 1191 and is the largest cathedral in Ireland. Legend has it that St Patrick himself baptised converts to Christianity at a well near the site. Take a stroll around the building and its grounds and enjoy the history of this special place.

Trinity College Library

If you love to read, this is the place for you! The college was founded in 1592, and the Long Room of its Old Library is one of the most beautiful libraries in the world, home to around 200,000 of the library’s oldest books. Trinity is also home to the Book of Kells. Famous past students include Oscar Wilde and Bram Stoker.

Kilmainham Gaol

This former prison is one of Dublin’s more sombre attractions. You can take a guided tour of the imposing building and discover many disturbing stories, see how prisoners lived, and learn about the leaders of the 1916 Easter Rising who were executed here.
