Finding the Best Estate Agent when Selling your House

If you are wanting to sell up and move house, then now is a great time to do it! Properties are selling quickly thanks to the Stamp Duty announcement back in July, and many people have decided that now is the time to make the move.

Before going ahead with moving, you will want to make sure that your home is in good order – sort problems such as damp, leaks or drainage problems  – you may be better off getting an expert in to deal with it – this blocked drains Bristol based company can help you to sort this.

The next thing you will need to do is to find an estate agent. This is an important part of moving and you want to make sure you get it right, as not all estate agencies are the same.

You initially have two basic options – a traditional estate agency with an office who will do most of the work for you in return for a fee (usually a percentage of the sale of the house). This is great if you would rather someone who knew what they were talking about took care of everything for you.

Online agencies are different as they do not have an office, and you will have to do more of the work, but they charge a set fee and they do tend to be cheaper.

Another good way to find a potential estate agency is to ask neighbours who they have had a good experience with – a good estate agent will know the area well.

Another good way is to look at the properties that they are selling – have they got good photos and an informative write up with each property?

Once you have narrowed it down to a couple that you like the look of, go and see them and see which one suits you best.
