There are a large number of benefits to being covered by the Health and Safety Act. All employers who are planning to employ new staff must make sure they are taking all steps necessary to ensure that they are complying with all the regulations which are included in the Act. Any worker who feels that they are being discriminated against for reasons relating to their health at work can file a complaint with the Employment Tribunal. If successful, this will mean that any unfair treatment that has taken place will be compensatory. This means that if a worker has suffered pain, illness or other type of injury as a direct result of their job it can be ordered to be paid.
