How we all accept advertising.

Advertising is something that we have all come to accept as a part of our lives. From the huge billboard sign, sometimes in neon, to the small posted business card through the front door we are bombarded with messages and offers for us to buy something. It has certainly come a long way from the market seller shouting out their wares and competing to be the loudest.

Many of our media outlets rely on advertising revenue to survive. For example ITV has to have adverts in between it’s programmes so that it can make money to make more. In some cases the programs and films themselves will feature a product or the characters will name check them. For example, drinking from a product so that you can clearly see the label or saying “I’m just popping out to Sainsbury’s” rather than “I’m off to the shops”.

The internet has given the advertiser more scope to sell to us on YouTube and on Facebook to name just two. Even then, Newspapers and print media also still carry a large amount of adverts, although the business is getting harder to win. One thing that you should not get Advertising confused with is what a PR Cheltenham based companyidoes. Public relations are very different to advertising despite what people think.
